  • I don’t watch a lot of television.  I think the late 90’s and early 2000’s was when I peaked and watched the most television.  I do enjoy it when I do watch.  You get to enter these character’s lives and become one of them.  You relate to them.  You become friends with them.  Even more so, you fall in love with them.  As I said, I don’t watch a lot of television, but I’m going to attempt this anyway.  Here are my top 10 favorite T.V. romances in no particular order.

    • Juliet and Sawyer (LOST) - No matter how much Sawyer tried, Kate’s heart truly belonged to Jack, and as for Juliet, she was tough as nails and spent her life caring for her sister.  She had no time for love.  She was too busy doing what needed to be done.  So when the time was right and these two found each other, it was a match made in Heaven and it lasted all the way to the very end.
    • Jim and Pam (The Office) - These two started off with some office flirting and it led to something huge.  (That’s what she said.)  They had their basic ups and downs like any other television couple, but they ended up falling in love, getting married and having a child together.  I have read that America finds them quite annoying now, but to hell with that.  The only reason everyone finds them so annoying is because they didn’t take the roller coaster ride that is typical television romance.  It was simple and it was sweet and I applaud them for not falling victim to all the drama.
    • Marshall and Lily (How I Met Your Mother) - Yet another case of a simple love without any drama or roller coaster rides.  These two are a perfect match.  I actually believe that these two can read each others thoughts.  I’m always happy to see these two.  They often remind me of my own relationship.  She’s short and I’m tall.  She can be a little feisty and I am way too nice and think the best about everybody.  I often make stupid mistakes and she gets on my ass about them.  These two are really one of my favorite television couples.
    • Buffy and Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel) - These two were doomed from the beginning.  She was a high school girl and he was a very old man.  It’s actually kind of disturbing when I put it that way.  Either way, very old vampire and a young girl.  It’s the age old tale.  However, these two truly had a doomed story.  She made him feel true happiness and it cost him his soul.  She had to kill him and send him to hell for the safety of the world.  I mean, they had the perfect day together with a chance of an amazing life and he gave it all up for what?  The safety of the freakin’ world!  They had a great love, but the stupid world kept needing to be saved and it prevented them from being together.  That and eventually Spike.  Him and Buffy almost made this list.  Almost.
    • Ross and Rachel (Friends) - I know, I know.  How typical of me.  And I’m not gonna lie, I can’t stand Jennifer Aniston.  I don’t really care for her at all.  And Rachel Green?  I would’ve never dated a girl like her.  And Ross?  It still amazes me how a guy who whines as much he does was ever a doctor.  Still, these two know how to make it.  The love is definitely there.  Every awkward moment, every kiss, every tear and every break, I loved them.  I was even crying with the rest of the world when she got off the plane.  Damn you two for being so great together.
    • Dawson and Joey (Dawson’s Creek) - I don’t care what anyone says.  I don’t care how the show ended up.  I don’t care how “meant to be” you think Joey and Pacey were, they suck.  And I’m sure we’ll find out some years down the road that things aren’t going so well for Pacey and Joey.  Why?  Maybe it’s cause Pacey is a bit of a whore who sleeps around with teachers and married women.  Maybe it’s cause he has daddy issues.  Whatever the case may be, we’ll see something happen and who will be there for Joey?  Dawson.  That’s right.  Their story is not even close to over.
    • Lucas and Peyton (One Tree Hill) - They’re not the greatest T.V. couple, but they definitely worked for me.  She was the girl who lost her mother and he was the outcast from the wrong side of the tracks, or tree.  Whatever.  Either way, after a few dramatic seasons of on again/off again, they finally managed to fall in love and keep it that way.  She was his comet.  His reason.  And at the very least, they were musical soul mates.
    • Jack and Kate (LOST) - These two wound up being pretty annoying.  They stared a lot at each other and never spoke of their feelings.  Had they just spoken up a little more, I think things would’ve worked out swimmingly from the beginning.  However, they didn’t.  Jack didn’t speak up and Sawyer was making his moves and they were working.  Kate didn’t speak up and Jack got a little weak because of it.  Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole reason Jack became such a little bitch was because of Kate.  Still, love prevailed, somewhat.  I mean… I think it did.  In death.  Wait.  I’m a bit lost now.
    • Willow and Tara (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) - You know why this was such an awesome couple?  Because they were both awkward and shy, but together, they were their voice and they worked out and it was awesome.  Two badass witches with a great love for each other.  Everyone wanted what they had.  Including Kennedy, and you knew damn well that Kennedy wasn’t ever going to be on the same playing field as Tara and Willow.  Kennedy.  I couldn’t stand her.  If only she had been standing by that window.
    • J.D. and Elliot (Scrubs) - Alright.  If you know me, I purposely saved this one for last.  It was a tough call.  I almost picked J.D. and Turk, still true love prevails in the end.  I love these two together.  They grew together and they ended up being one of those couples that were truly right for each other and they wade through the same crap as everybody else, but the big difference is they didn’t let it take them down. (Thank you, Dr. Cox)  In the end, all of J.D.’s dream came true.  He married Elliot.  And I cried.  I’m such a softy.
